Place a piece of clear tape or masking tape over the middle of your nail. Be sure to account for the full curve of your nail.​​ Use a pen or marker to draw lines along the left and right edges of your nail bed​​. Carefully remove the tape and place it flat against a ruler.​​ Measure the distance between the two marks in millimeters at the widest distance.
